The Director of Public Relations and Information of the Ministry of Health, providing shocking details of the Zionist regime’s military attacks on Iran, announced that nearly 6,000 citizens were hospitalized in the country’s hospitals, and emphasized: Free medical services continue and documented reports are being prepared to be sent to international institutions, including the World Health Organization.
Hossein Kermanpour, Director of Public Relations and Information of the Ministry of Health, said in the “Greetings to Life” program of this radio network: During this period, about 6,000 people were hospitalized in medical centers; most of them were discharged after receiving medical services, but about 170 people are still under care in hospitals and some are being kept in intensive care units.
According to him, the age of the victims ranged from 4-year-old children to elderly people over 80 years old, and the total time of surgeries performed has reached more than 1,100 hours.
Kermanpour described this number as unprecedented and added: "In this short period of time, such a volume of surgeries at the national level reflects the round-the-clock efforts of the country's medical teams. In this extensive operation, 26 provinces of the country were directly or indirectly involved in sending patients and providing medical services. A total of 100 cities were affected, and 27 medical universities, along with medical staff, were responsible for treating the injured.
Stating that Tehran with 2,780 injured, Kermanshah with 485, and Khuzestan with 368 people, he said: "In contrast, Qazvin and Mazandaran provinces reported the least injuries with only five and one injured, respectively. Semnan, Golestan, and Khorasan Razavi provinces also remained without any reported cases of attacks."
Kermanpour emphasized: "Of the total number of injured, 301 were women; including four pregnant mothers who suffered severe injuries." Also, 212 children and adolescents are among the injured, and unfortunately, nearly 30 children and adolescents lost their lives.
Referring to the deaths of pregnant mothers and their babies in the recent attacks, he said: 67 people were injured in Tajrish Square. Bitter and violent scenes were recorded that show the depth of the tragedy. In one case, a family was targeted on their way back from a vacation trip; the mother and father died on the spot, and their fetus was also martyred.
Referring to the martyrdom of 102 women in these attacks, Kermanpour added: These were mothers who fell victim to violence with children in their wombs. Such statistics clearly refute the occupation regime's claim that civilians are not targeted.
At the end of this interview, he announced the preparation of official reports to be sent to international institutions and said: So far, five letters and reports have been sent to international organizations, including the World Health Organization. The latest report has been prepared by the Ministry of Health and is on its way to being sent. Our goal is to honestly and document the human tragedies that have occurred and to bring the voices of the oppressed people of Iran to the ears of the world.
