According to the Public Relations of Radio Salamat, Dr. Iraj Khosrownia, President of the Iranian Association of Internal Medicine Specialists, emphasized the need to observe personal hygiene in the program "Together Until Tomorrow" of this radio network, referring to the spread of emerging digestive viruses this season, and said: In recent weeks, numerous cases of diarrhea, vomiting, general weakness, fever, cough and shortness of breath have been observed in patients, which are mostly of viral origin and are caused by environmental pollution.

He considered the most important factors for the transmission of these diseases to be contact with contaminated banknotes, the use of contaminated gloves when shopping, and touching faucets and handles of public services, and recommended: Citizens should wash their hands immediately after contact with public surfaces.

Khosrownia also warned against consuming fruits that grow on the ground, such as watermelon, cucumber, and strawberries, adding: These fruits should be washed thoroughly before consumption to reduce the risk of infection.

According to him, most patients recover within two to three days, but people with underlying diseases such as diabetes, heart and lung conditions should definitely see a doctor if symptoms appear.

The head of the Iranian Association of Internal Medicine Specialists concluded by emphasizing: By observing simple hygiene principles such as washing hands and being careful in food consumption, many digestive diseases can be prevented.
