A specialist in new technologies in the postal industry, referring to the vital role of artificial intelligence in optimizing and transforming logistics, said: Artificial intelligence in Iran’s postal industry has entered the optimization stage and in the future we must move towards prediction and self-management.
According to the Public Relations report of Radio Salamat, Engineer Mirzaei in the “No Yar” program, referring to the significant growth of e-commerce and the increase in the volume of postal items, added: Logistics has become the lifeblood of countries’ economies and artificial intelligence can meet the growing needs of this field by creating speed, accuracy and intelligence.
He said: In Iran, the most use of artificial intelligence has been in final delivery and allocation of packages and routing for postal agents. Robots have also been developed that, although not yet fully intelligent, play a role in optimizing operations.
Mirzaei added: “Globally, AI has moved from a reactive phase to a predictive phase, identifying and avoiding risky routes by analyzing weather, transportation, and global news data. Also, in the field of predictive maintenance, the health of logistics equipment is continuously monitored using the Internet of Things.”
Emphasizing the importance of the “digital twin” in the supply chain, he said: Creating a virtual and live version of all components of the supply chain, from trucks to personnel, is possible with the help of AI. This technology can simulate different scenarios and automatically suggest alternative routes in the event of disruption.
Finally, Engineer Mirzaei expressed hope for the development of this technology in Iran, saying: “By entering more advanced phases, we can bring the country’s postal industry closer to the world level.”
